About me

I’m Raimond, an open source consultant/teammanager with a focus on Observability.

I’ve spent 25+ years working across different areas on using and implementing open source. At first the focus was on system administration (using Solaris/Tru64 Unix combined with Linux) and during the years that shifted to primarily Linux based systems.

After more than a decade of coaching (100+) open source consultants in developing their social and technical skills in open source consulting, I decided that I missed doing “technical things” myself.

So since 2022 I changed jobs and became a consultant again. Now my focus is on managing open source teams as a technical team lead. My preferred assignments are those where observability (or sometimes only monitoring) is the main purpose.

At this moment (2024) my preferrable tool for gaining more insights and control (observability) on the IT environment is Zabbix.

Quests, projects, things I try for getting better at Observability (and more primarily Zabbix) will be written by me on this site. I hope you’ll enjoy this and my writings will help you on your “quests”.
